Fanfic: The Sodor Engines Specials: Sodor, Part Six
Plot
Percy, Toby, and Rosie escape form a blockade at Tidmouth (at Edward's expense), and Duck is betrayed by a friend.
Script
Narrator: Meanwhile, back at Tidmouth, Percy, Toby, Edward and Rosie were sleeping in the station. Suddenly, Percy heard a noise from outside the station.
Percy: Wake up! Something's out there!
Toby: Percy, this is the second time tonight I've been woken out of my sleep. Can't you just let an old tram rest?
Percy: No, really! There's an engine outside.
Rosie: I'll go check it out.
Narrator: Rosie silently slipped through the sidings until she reached the end of the station platform. Whats she saw was terrifying. Eight diesels sat on the lines into the station, glaring menacingly and blocking any way out of the station. One of them was Diesel 10. The little tank engine scurried back to her friends.
Rosie: There are diesels blocking every way out! We're trapped inside, and it's Diesel 10's doing!
Percy: Why aren't they just coming in and catching us?
Edward: Because Diesel 10's smart. He knows that we know the station better than he does. Rather than having his henchtrains search every nook and cranny of this place, which risks letting us escape, he's just waiting for us to give ourselves up. No trouble, no resistance.
Rosie: How will we get out?
Edward: I've got a plan. (Whispers something to the others)
Toby: Absolutely not.
Edward: It's the only way. Once you're out, you can warn the other engines.
Toby: Fine. But I don't like it.
Narrator: Outside, the diesels waited. Then, out of nowhere, Edward raced out of the station, whistling loud and long and wheeshing a great cloud of steam. He bumped the diesel on his line off the rails, and continued fleeing as fast as he could. The diesels easily passed him and blocked the points, trapping the old engine.
Diesel 10: This one's stupid. He thought he could get past us- Ha!
Narrator: But none of them saw Percy, Toby, and Rosie sneak out of the station and roll into the sidings.
Toby: Edward was very brave, I'll give him that.
Percy: The sooner we find help, the better.
(Cut to Duck, puffing into Knapford)
Narrator: Meanwhile, Duck rolled into the yards, looking for the breakdown crane. Thomas had left to warn the other engines about the coal. Duck had been left with the job of hauling Lady free from the rubble. Duck had just found the crane when he heard another engine. Duck looked, before he realized that it was just Stephen.
Stephen: Hello, Duck. What are you doing?
Narrator: Duck was unsure of what to say. But he trusted Stephen, and told him everything that had happened. Stephen was amazed.
Stephen: Wow. Can I help you, Duck?
Duck: Sure. I could use an extra set of buffers.
Narrator: Duck brought Stephen to Lady's workshop, where he introduced him. They then set right to work.
Duck: Lady, will you mind if we put you on a flatbed?
Lady: Not at all.
Narrator: Lady was soon clear of the rubble and on the flatbed. Stephen and Duck were about to take her away when Stephen looked at Duck.
Stephen: Can I talk to you for a second?
Duck: Of course.
Narrator: The two engines rolled back towards the workshop.
Duck: What is it, Stephen?
Stephen: I'm sorry Duck.
Duck: For what?
Stephen: This!
Narrator: Stephen slammed Duck backward into the workshop. He hit the wall with a thud. Rock came loose and fell around him, leaving him trapped.
Stephen: Come on, Lady. We have an appointment with Diesel 10!
Narrator: And he puffed away.
