Cedric is a mainline diesel engine on the Smoky Valley Railroad.

History

Cedric was built in 2024 for British Railways. When it closed down, the European Railway Museum promptly bought him. He lived like that for many years, enjoying the attention. Through all this time, Cedric retained the normal diesel prejudice for steam locomotives. His life took an odd turn in 2049 when he was loaned to the Smoky Valley Railroad for the summer. When he arrived, he was surprised to find steam engines instead of diesels. He refused to work with them, and was constantly showing off. A few days into his stay, he caused the destruction of an expensive coach, which he blamed on Scout. This presented a moral issue for him: should he fess up and be sent away in disgrace, or let an innocent engine be punished? In the end, he confessed hiss crime, but Mr. Capp was impressed with his honesty and let him stay. Cedric currently helps out Jay and Scout on the main line.

Personality

When he arrived, Cedric bore a grudge against steam engines and refused to work with them. However, he eventually befriended them. Cedric is kind and hard-wroking, and doesn't hesitate to help a friend in need.

Cedric is based on a class 40 diesel locomotive.
