FanFic:Last of the Railroads Character Biographies: Marian

Marian is a friendly, cheeky little tank engine.

History

Marian was built to run light freight and passenger trains in 2027. However, she was sent for scrap almost immediately after she was built. Eventually, Marian was given another chance at life. But it was a horrible one: Marian was forced to work in a scrap yard, shunting her own kind to their destruction.

Marian continued her work for fear of her life, but thankfully her scrap yard was shut down. She was bught by the Smoky Valley Railroad, and was given the job of shunter.

Once there, she worked very well, and was befriended by the other engines. In 2047, when Johnny was brought to the railway, two became close friends. In 2048, she, along with Scout and Jay, were tricked and kidnapped, to be sold for scrap. With the help of Johnny and Thomas, they escaped, but Marian became increasingly depressed when the engines returned to the railway without Johnny. Johnny found his way home two months later, and Marian was back to her old, cheeky self.

In 2049, Johnny discovered the truth about Marian's past, which she had been loath to speak of. Marian was afraid that the other engines would cast her out for her past misdeeds, but Johnny convinced her that she would be safe. The truth was revealed to all the next day, but the engines were able to look beyond it and she remained part of the family.

Personality

Marian is helpful and kind, but she does have a mischevious side. She and Johnny are often on adventures, often ending up in trouble. Marian is forever the optimist. However, she is very sensitive and naive.

Marian and Johnny are generally portrayed as best friends, and they often work together. It is an enduring friendship: Marian and Johnny sometimes quarrel, but they resolve their problems in the end.
