This page describes some possible future tie-in books for The Railway Series. This may include episodes of the TV series Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends that are suitably modified to be more Railway Series-esque.
Second Chances
The Skarloey Railway is packed one summer. Even the diesels, Rusty and Fred, are pulling passenger trains. The Thin Controller has an idea that might help. He orders some workmen to use the Small Railway to travel to the place were Duke was found. The Small Railway's new steam engine, Dundee, takes the workmen. There, they find what looks like it used to be an engine. They take the machinery back to Croven's Gate Works and have it mended. The machinery turns out to be No. 2: "Stanley", the cocky American engine that used to work with Duke. The engines know how much trouble Stanley, who they've nick-named "Smudger" can be. They don't want to work with him. Stanley is annoyed by this and causes a lot of trouble for the Thin Controller. And sooner or later, he must ask himself if Stanley really deserves a second chance.
