Fanfic: The Sodor Engines Specials: Sodor, Part Two
Plot
Edward tells the other engines about the Lady, a legendary engine whoprovides the energy to keep Sodor alive. Meanwhile, Thomas notices Stephen acting suspicously and informs the other engines. They tell Thomas that he's just jealous.
Script
Narrator: The engines continued their work as usual, and Thomas was as cheerful as ever.
(We see engines puffing across Sodor)
(Cut to Tidmouth Sheds)
Narrator: That night, the engines couldn't sleep.
Toby: How about counting sheep?
Thomas: Too boring. Anyone know a good story?
Edward: I know a story.
Rosie: Do tell!
Edward: My story begins a long time ago, before there were railways on Sodor. Our island has always been a special place. That's because there is gold dust.
Percy: What's gold dust?
Edward: I was just getting to that! Gold dust is a very special material. It exists only on Sodor. No one knows how it got there, but they all know one thing - it's magic. Gold dust has many powers. It can enlighten: several people have had brilliant ideas while touching gold dust. It can heal: it has brought people and engines on the brink of death back to health. And, perhaps the most potent ability of all, it can control. Any one who has gold dust has huge amounts of power. It can be used for bad purposes as well as good. Then, a while ago, an old man had an idea.
(Flashback: an old man is polishing a purple tank engine)
Edward: He built a little tank engine, spectacular in every sense, and named it "Lady". Lady was polished with a cloth coated with gold dust until her coat gleamed like the sun and the stars. Then a strange thing happened. Just after the old man polished Lady’s smokebox door, a face formed! When he ran Lady, the rails behind her gleamed gold. Soon, the other engines had faces and personalities too. Lady is what makes us engines what we are. She provides the power that keeps Sodor alive.
(Cut back to Tidmouth sheds)
Toby: Wow.
James: And where is Lady now?
Edward: Nobody knows.
Gordon: Exactly. This “Lady” can’t be real.
Oliver: Who knows? Maybe she is.
(Cut to Thomas, pulling into Knapford)
Narrator: The next day, Thomas couldn’t stop thinking about Edward’s story. Perhaps, like Oliver said, Lady was real. But then where was she? Thomas was so muddled in his own thoughts that he didn’t look where he was going and accidentally bumped into Stephen.
Thomas: Hello, Stephen.
Stephen: (Slightly nervous) Hello Thomas.
Thomas: Where are you going? You finished your last train fifteen minutes ago.
Stephen: Well . . . The yard manager gave me a special. He says it’ll be ready in a few minutes.
Thomas: Okay. Goodbye, Stephen!
Narrator: But Stephen didn’t say goodbye. He waited until Thomas was out of sight before he puffed away.
(Cut to Tidmouth station)
Narrator: Meanwhile, Thomas had reached Tidmouth. He saw Gordon, James and Henry talking about how troublesome trucks are.
Thomas: I think Stephen’s up to something.
Henry: What makes you say that?
Thomas: He was acting strange and claimed he had to pull a special, even though there were no trucks in sight.
Gordon: I think someone’s jealous of Stephen because Stephen bigger and stronger than him.
Narrator: Thomas was furious he puffed away, his face as red as James’ boiler.
