Percy is a little green tank engine.

History

Percy was an experimental prototype shunting locomotive. He functioned quite well, but another class proved better, so no more of his kind were made. Percy was shipped to a harbor, where he met and became friends with Thomas, James, Lizzie, and Richard.

After they were replaced in 1967, Percy, Thomas, and James, were sent to Barry Island, before being rescued and sent to Sodor.

Percy worked as a yard shunter for several years, until Duck arrived. At first, Percy thought he would be scrapped and replaced by Duck, but he later learned that Sir Topham Hatt intended that Percy would work with Thomas.

In 1976, Percy helped in the rescue of Lady, and was there when Thomas fought Diesel 10. In 1980, he went to the railway show at the National Railway Museum. While there, he beat Mallard, City of Truro, and others in a race. (Although he did it accidently- he had to deliver the trophy to the finish line before the contestants arrived). He also helped the others escape the shed when it was due to explode and was made part of the National Collection.

Percy currently pulls freight trains on the Ffarquhar line. He has had other jobs, although he botched two (a trip with a mainline freight train and taking Annie and Clarabel to Thomas). Percy also runs mail trains, a job he greatly enjoys.

Personality

Percy is a happy, friendly soul. He is very naive and gullible, which the bigger engines sometimes use against him. Percy is cheeky, but not as much so as Thomas, who is generally shown as his best friend.
