FanFic:The Sodor Engines: James
James is a vain red tender engine.
History
James was built in 1912 and worked on the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway, and the LMS for several years before being transferred to the Southern Railway which he worked for many years. He regularly worked with Thomas and Percy, who were shunters at a nearby harbor.
James has often caused trouble, mostly because of his vain manner. His adventures include once having to take a replacement tender, getting trapped in a siding by wet paint, letting Boco have an accident, nearly falling into a quarry pit, nearly destroying some express coaches, and getting tricked into believing he had a rare disease that makes an engine explode. However, he always tries to make things right and has proved to be a useful engine.
James pulls light freight and passenger trains on the main line, and is a reasonably hard worker.
Personality
James is vain and conceited. He thinks very highly of himself, and believes that a "special" engine like himself should only do certain jobs. James once received his comeuppance when after a new coat of paint, the wet rails made it impossible for him to move. He does sometimes see sense and likes to be as really useful as the next engine.
Basis
James is based on a Class 28 locomotive.
