Fanfic: The Sodor Engines Specials: Sodor, Part Nine
Plot
Thomas and Diesel 10 have their final confrontation, and only a little tank engine's strength can save Sodor . . .
Script
Narrator: Thomas sat by the edge of ther ravine for a while before he realized that he would have to catch up with his friends. It didn't take too long, and he was soon running along side him. Everyone could see that he had been through something bad, and no one asked him what had happen.
(The engines steam over the Walney Channel)
Narrator: Soon they had reached a large scrap yard on the other railway. Percy found an old bunker that still had some coal in it, and soon Lady's firebox was warming.
Lady: As soon as I reach full power, we'll be able to defeat Diesel 10.
Thomas: It's that simple?
Lady: Not really.
Narrator: And she smiled again. Meanwhile, Percy and Toby sat on guard at the edge of the shed they were sheltering in.
Toby: There are some engines coming!
Narrator: All of the engines prepared for a fight. However, as the mist cleared, the engines were delighted to see who the approaching locomotives were.
Rosie: It's the others!
Narrator: Gordon, Oliver, Emily, Donald, and Douglas puffed into the sheds. They looked tired and were in bad condition, but everyone felt better to see that there were others on their side.
Thomas: How'd you know how to find us?
Gordon: We didn't. We all felt something pulling us this way, and we followed it here.
Toby: That would probably be Lady.
Narrator: Everyone rested and waited. Lady's firebox was suprisingly slow in warming. About half an hour later, the noise of diesels filled the scrapyard. Every engine stood forward and blocked the entrance to the shed. Diesel 10 rolled forward, looking very amused.
Diesel 10: Well, well. Is suppose you did make it through the swamp. Pity about Stephen, though.
Narrator: Suprisingly, Diesel 10 didn't look annoyed at all by Stephen's sacrifice.
Thomas: You mean betrayal by your own spy doesn't phase you?
Diesel 10: Not in the least. I was going to have to get rid of him anyway.
Thomas: Just get on with it. It was going to come down to this anyway.
Diesel: Ha! The puffball wants to fight us!
Diesel 10: Silent! So, it's a fight you want? Then it's a fight you'll get!]
Narrator: And Diesel 10 viciously bumped Thomas forward into the sheds.
(Rosie rolls forward)
Rosie: Don't bump around my friends, you fume-belching scrap pile!
Diesl 10: Outa my way!
(Diesel 10 bangs his claw sideways, denting Rosie's tank)
Narrator: Then, out of nowhere, diesels appeared. They far outnumbered the steamies. They quickly and easily subdued the steamies, and there was nothing anyone could do to stop them. Diesel 10 rolled forward, looking directly at Thomas.
Diesel 10: You've caused me a lot of trouble. As such, I want to get rid of you personally.
Narrator: Only then did Thomas realize that there was a pit of molten metal at the back of the shed that was used to destroy old scrap. All DIesel 10 would have to do was push him into it . . .
Lady: Just a few more minutes, Thomas!
Diesel 10: I can easily destroy in that amount of time.
Narrator: And he buffered up to Thomas and started to push him backwards. But Tohmas locked his brakes hard.
Thomas: I'm not going to give up that easily. You've hurt a lot of engines, Diesel 10. Edward, Duck, Rosie,-
(Thomas gulps and recalls Stephen falling into the swamp)
Thomas: -and Stephen. It has to stop. Right here.
Diesel 10: I say you gotta go, you gotta go!
Narrator: It soon developed into a push of war, with Diesel 10 shoving Thomas one way, and Thomas pushing Diesel 10 backwards in the other direction. Diesel 10 was winning, but Thomas was fighting as hard as he could. On either side of him, Thomas could see his friends. They were all cheering their suppoirt for him. And then he saw Lady. She was smiling. And throguhout all the noise, Thomas heard her say two words. For Sodor. That was enough. Thomas pumped his pistons and puffed like he had never done before. Time blurred. All Tohmas knew was that he was at the edge of a pit of molten metal, pushing for his life, his friends' lives, and his homeland. The buffers started to crack. They came loose, tumbling into the pit. Thomas was to be next. Diesel 10 smiled, knowing that victory was assured. Then there was a loud CRACK!
Diesel 10: Wha-?
Narrator: Thomas kept pushing. Diesel 10's claw started to lean sideways. Then, with a thunk, it tumbled off Diesel 10.
Diesel 10: Pinchy!
Narrator: Then his skin started to crumple and bend. It fell off of his body at a rapid pace, and soon his chassis was uncovered, making him look like an ugly skeleton. The top started to collapse inward. His wheels popped off, and bolts flew off him in every direction. At last, he fell on his side, shattering into a million pieces. the pile of scrap he had hit tilted sideways and tumbled over. And then everything went black.
