Part One
Narrator: Emily is an emerald green tender engine. She was built by the old Great Northern Railway in Britain. Her class is one of the oldest engines preserved. Emily was also in a relationship with Thomas. Until one day, Thomas was in the yard, taking on coal and water. Then, Duck the 57xx tank engine puffed up.
Thomas: Hey, Duck.
Duck: Emily wanted me to tell you something...
Thomas: What is it?
Duck: {sighs} She's saying that she's breaking up with you.
Thomas: {shocked} What?! Why would she?
Duck: Well, Henry's come back from the works after an overhaul, and she's developed feelings for him.
Narrator: Thomas could not believe what he had heard. He had been in love with Emily since they both arrived on Sodor. Now Emily was leaving him for Henry. Later that day, Thomas was taking Annie and Clarabel, when he saw Emily in a siding.
Thomas: {thinking} Just ignore her, Thomas. Don't say a word to her at all.
Emily: {whistles} Hi, Thomas!
Narrator: But Thomas completely ignored Emily. She was surprised.
Emily: Thomas never ignored me before. But why did he ignore me completely?
Narrator: That night, the other engines were at Tidmouth Sheds. Thomas saw Emily and Henry next to each other. He didn't even bother to yell at Henry, and he left. So, he went to Knapford goods sheds instead.
Thomas' driver: All right, you can stay here. Perhaps you can get some sleep now. I'm going home, it's rather late.
Thomas: All right, driver.
Narrator: Thomas then saw Diesel at the station platform.
Thomas: Wait! Driver, come back!
Diesel: Grrr... the Scottish girl is in love with a big green puffball and not me! I'll get rid of Henry if it's the last thing I do!
Narrator: Thomas thought it best not to talk about what he had heard. The next morning, Thomas, Henry and Emily were helping out at the quarry. China clay was being loaded into the freight trucks. Donald and Douglas shunted loads of granite to the rock grinder and Mavis shunted cars of fresh limestone into the sidings. Thomas arrived and was greeted warmly by Mavis and Boco.
Boco: Good to have you here today, Thomas! We could really use your help.
Thomas: {sadly} No problem. Good to see you, Mavis.
Mavis: Thanks.
Narrator: The joy however was silenced by the sound of a menacing purr from a diesel engine. Diesel rolled up next to Mavis.
Diesel: What the hell are you doing here, steamie?
Thomas: Sir Topham Hatt sent me to help. Is that a problem?
Diesel: Yes. This is my Quarry. The sheds are mine, the rocks are mine, you're getting nothing out of coming here.
Emily: {rolls eyes} Here we go again.
Diesel: You got something to say? I thought I told you to go to work.
Mavis: Just who do you think you are? You don't own me!
Diesel: You're a diesel Mavis! And what Diesel says, diesels do! Now go to work!
Narrator: Mavis sighed and left. Emily glared at the Class 08 {pronounced 8} shunter.
Emily: I'm going out with Henry, thank you very much!
Diesel: {laughs} Who? This green puffball? He's got nothing to offer!
Henry: Perhaps a better paint job and the ability to be kind perhaps? I've been kind! I stopped you from destroying steam engines!
Diesel: Because Sir Topham Hatt would have sent you to to the smelter yards if you didn't. I'm the World's Strongest Engine!
Henry: At least I didn't fall in a barge in the river after failing to pull 20 trucks yet I could.
Diesel: That proves nothing! Emily is still mine!
Narrator: Emily smirked and wheeshed out all the extra dust around her, smearing against Diesel's paint as Thomas laughed.
Emily: Yeah, right, Diesel!
Narrator: Diesel glared and sulked away, fuming.
Sing-a-Long Segment
{Cut to Thomas and Emily on a stage.}
Thomas: Well, folks, here comes the part of the series that I like best: the sing along! That's when all of you viewers join in and sing the lyrics of the next song along with us. Where'd that prop man go to? Yoo-hoo! Oh, prop man!
Emily: At your service!
Thomas: {puzzled} You're the prop girl?
Emily: Yeah! I heard he's on vacation, I'm filling in for him!
Thomas: Oh. Now this next sing along tune has a lot of punch in it! So I would like you to decorate this stage, with something that really fits the mood!
Emily: Lucky for you - I got just the thing! {exits}
{Emily re-enters with a kangaroo with boxing gloves.}
Thomas: What in blazes is that?!
Emily: It's the punch you said you wanted! Go on, Buffer.
{The kangaroo punches Thomas in the face, Thomas leans to his side.}
Emily: That's it, Buffer! Cool it! You're due back at the circus in five minutes. So, hop to it girl!
{Emily and the kangaroo exit the stage, leaving Thomas with a black eye.}
Thomas: And a-one, and a-two, and a- Oh, that Emily!
The Beatles:
It's been a hard day's night, and I've been working like a dog
It's been a hard day's night, I should be sleeping like a log
But when I get home to you I find the things that you do
Will make me feel alright
You know I work all day to get you money to buy you things
And it's worth it just to hear you say you're gonna give me everything
So why on earth should I moan, 'cause when I get you alone
You know I feel okay
When I'm home everything seems to be right
When I'm home feeling you holding me tight, tight, yeah
It's been a hard day's night, and I've been working like a dog
It's been a hard day's night, I should be sleeping like a log
But when I get home to you I find the things that you do
Will make me feel alright
When I'm home everything seems to be right
When I'm home feeling you holding me tight, all through the night, yeah
It's been a hard day's night, and I've been working like a dog
It's been a hard day's night, I should be sleeping like a log
But when I get home to you I find the things that you do
Will make me feel alright
You know I feel alright
You know I feel alright...
{Cut back to the stage. Thomas' eye is fully healed.}
Thomas: Well, now, that was pretty darn good I must say! Of course, I expect you'll do even better on this next song that's coming up. Particularly you children out there! So let me hear it this time, eh?
Emily: Thomas, I got to know what kind of song this next sing along's gonna be so I can set the stage prop.
Thomas: Well, I guess you might call it a romantic ballad.
Emily: Ballot, eh? Well, I just got the thing! {exits}
Thomas: This time, I want you kids out there to really sing out-
Emily: All right, Thomas! Here it is! {brings a voting ballot}
Thomas: A voting booth?!
Emily: That's right, Toms. You said a ballot!
Thomas: Not ballot, you clod! Ballad!
Emily: Ah, that's quite another thing all together! {dresses up as a ballet dancer}
Thomas: Now, what on earth is that for?
Emily: Ballet! I'm a ballet dancer! {giggles}
Thomas: Ohh, {sighs} let's have a go at it, folks.
The Beatles:
Oh yeah, I'll tell you something
I think you'll understand
When I say that something
I wanna hold your hand
I wanna hold your hand
I wanna hold your hand
Oh, please, say to me
You'll let me be your man
And please, say to me
You'll let me hold your hand
Now let me hold your hand
I wanna hold your hand
Yeah you, got that something
I think you'll understand
When I say that something
I wanna hold your hand
I wanna hold your hand
I wanna hold your hand
And when I touch you I feel happy, inside
It's such a feeling
That my love
I can't hide
I can't hide
I can't hide
Yeah you, got that something
I think you'll understand
When I say that something
I wanna hold your hand
I wanna hold your hand
I wanna hold your ha-a-a-a-a-a-and
Part Two
{Cut back to the quarry, Henry and Emily are working hard.}
Narrator: Meanwhile, Henry and Emily worked as fast as their wheels could carry them. Work was going very smoothly. Except...for Diesel. He watched and seethed with envy as Henry and Emily pulled a fish train. Boco was with him.
Boco: Are you sure you want to through with this?
Diesel: Yes! Get rid of that green puffball. Nobody takes Emily away from me. Especially a steamie!
Boco: {confused} I thought we had gotten rid of all this grudge against steamies thing.
Diesel: Not from where I'm standing. I won't ask again. Henry is going to get exactly what's coming to him.
Narrator: Boco gave Diesel an angry glare. He unlike Diesel was actually comfortable with steamies.
Diesel: Now will you do as I say?
Boco: NEVER!!!
Diesel: Everything...I have to do everything by myself...
Narrator: He honked his horn and charged, slamming into Emily. Henry saw what Diesel did.
Henry: LEAVE HER ALONE!
Narrator: Diesel ignored him and shoved the coupling onto Emily. The winch started pulling and Emily was being tugged back.
Emily: HELP! HENRY!
Narrator: Henry quickly took the extra part of the chain and the driver stood on the front of Henry, gripping the chain and hooking it on Henry's bufferbeam.
Henry's driver: Pull! We can get her out!
Diesel: WELL DON'T JUST SIT THERE! STOP THEM!
Boco: No!
Narrator: Diesel perked up a furious look on his face as Boco pulled the chain, pulling Emily out of the gears and onto the tracks. Emily looked at Henry in disbelief.
Emily: Henry... you...
Narrator: Suddenly, a honk was heard and a car drove up the side of the road. It was Sir Topham Hatt. He got out of his car and glared at both Boco and Diesel.
Sir Topham Hatt: Just what exactly where you two up to?
Diesel: Well...ummm ...sir we just saved Emily's life!
Sir Topham Hatt: Oh, really? Is that so?
Diesel: Yes sir! The shaft broke up ahead and the momentum sent the car down the track into Emily! Henry here tried to push her in! He doesn't like Stirling Singles sir!
Henry: Liar! {yelling} YOU HEARTLESS PIECE OF SCRAP! Sir, I would never!
Diesel: I can prove it sir. It collapsed from weight and the momentum sent the car down the track.
Narrator: Sir Topham Hatt looked over at Henry, and shook his head.
Boco: ...Yes, sir...I...was told by Diesel...to get rid of Henry, but I didn't want to.
Diesel: Me? {laughs} I wouldn't dare!
Emily: Yes you would! You just want me to be your little slave! Sir, he is so evil! He wants me to be his girlfriend and I keep telling him no, he won't listen to me!
Narrator: Sir Topham Hatt pondered, scratching his chin then looking at Diesel.
Sir Topham Hatt: You're a terrible liar. Threatening and almost destroying another steam engine? This is a punishment that WILL NOT go by unaccounted for. You will be taken to the Smelters.
Diesel: But sir-
Sir Topham Hatt: No but's Diesel. You will stay there for two months until I give you proper judgment. Now leave, before I send you to be turned to scrap.
Diesel: {growling at Boco} Rotten tratior...
Narrator: Diesel left, and so did Sir Topham Hatt. Henry looked at Emily.
Henry: Are you okay, Emily?
Emily: {wheeshes a little} Y-es...I'm fine...Henry did you mean what you said? Or where you saying that just to save me?
Henry: {smiles} I only say things that I mean and I do love you, Emily.
Emily: {smiles and blushes} I love you too Henry...
Narrator: Then, Thomas puffed up alongside Emily.
Thomas: What happened? Henry, Diesel tried to destroy you and Emily. I wanted to stop him from doing so!
Emily: Thomas, I'm sorry I broke up with you. I still like you as a friend.
Thomas: I'm sorry I ignored you the other day. It wasn't right.
Boco: Henry, I'm sorry about what Diesel wanted to do.
Henry: Well make sure it won't happen again.
Narrator: Boco set off to do his work. Thomas smiled at the two green tender engines. Emily and Henry looked into each others' eyes, and, for the first time, kissed. That night, the engines were at Tidmouth Sheds. Thomas and Emily explained the whole story.
Gordon: Well, Henry, I didn't know you had it in you.
Henry: Neither did I.
Percy: I'm really sorry about what happened between you and Emily, Thomas.
Thomas: Ah, don't be.
Narrator: Meanwhile, Diesel was in the smelters, sulking.
Diesel: I'll get my revenge, Henry, JUST YOU WAIT! {mutters} It’s not over yet. It’s not over yet...
