Part One
Narrator: Eagle the red engine has been living on the Island of Sodor since the Norramby branch line was restored. He loves every detail on the line. One foggy night, Eagle was journeying home to Norramby sheds from Brendam Docks after working with Salty. He had been telling Eagle stories of strange and spooky events that occur when the fog was around...
Eagle: I guess I’ll take the forest route home.
Narrator: As he ventured deeper through the forest, he saw that the so seeming harmless trees seemed to take on horrifying shapes. Suddenly, he came to a sudden stop. His driver checked his tender.
Eagle's driver: Your tender is empty and we have no coal left, we can’t send an SOS I’m afraid, we’ll have to wait till the morning.
Narrator: Eagle's driver and fireman found shelter in a nearby cottage. Eagle was all alone in the forest, when suddenly, he heard a faint puffing sound! And it sounded like the sound was coming on the rails next to him. Then he saw a faint, steamy object coming on the other line towards him. It was completely white in color and steam rose from either side of it; it didn’t seem to notice Eagle. as it passed him and carried on down the line.
Eagle: A GHOST! HELP!
Narrator: But no one heard him. The next morning, Eagle's face was wrinkly from lack of sleep and he was very tired.
Eagle's driver: What's the matter, Eagle?
Eagle: I saw a ghost last night! It was completely white in color and had horrible steam coming from it.
Eagle's driver: {laughs} There is no such thing as a ghost.
Narrator: Soon, Trevor the traction engine arrived with a cart of coal for Eagle. His firebox was burning brightly and he steamed quickly away. He met Molly and Neville at Knapford Station and told them about his encounter with the ghost.
Neville: Really?
Molly: Is it scary?
Narrator: Things went worse as Diesel arrived.
Diesel: I heard the ghost of a steamie that crashed in the forest many years ago still haunts that forest!
Narrator: And he rolled away. Neville checked the timetable on the station wall.
Neville: According to the timetable, we're not working tonight. Maybe we can go to the forest and watch for the ghost!
Eagle: {confidently} Maybe we could.
Neville: Are you in, Molly?
Narrator: Molly was very worried.
Molly: What if he tries to scrap us?
Neville: We'll be there to protect you. Don't worry!
Molly: In that case, I’ll come along!
Sing-a-Long Segment
{Cut to Thomas and Emily on the stage}
Thomas: All right, boys and girls. Are your vocal chords all tuned up and ready? Cause this is the part of the episode known as the sing-along. In which all you kids out there join us in singing the lyrics of The Fab Four's next song. Prop man!
Emily: At your service! He's out sick this week. He asked me to take his place. What kind of song are we going to do?
Thomas: Well, it's quite a wild theme. A real jump tune!
Emily: A jump tune, you say? I've just the thing! {exits}
Thomas: Now kids, as I was saying-
Emily: {dressed as a jumper} How's this Thomas?
Thomas: A paratrooper?
Emily: Well, you said you wanted to put the folks in the mood for a jump tune! {laughs}
Thomas: Oh. Well, then I suggest you take a flying leap for yourself!
Emily: Don't mind if I do! {jumps off stage} GERONIMO-O-O-O-O-O-O-!!! {CRASH!}
Thomas: You know, I always knew someday she'd go off the deep end.
{Emily floats up with a parachute above/below her.}
Emily: Wouldn't ya know it? I had me blinking parachute upside-down! {laughs as she continues floating up}
Thomas: Would you believe it?
The Beatles:
You make me dizzy, Miss Lizzy,
The way you rock'n'roll.
You make me dizzy, Miss Lizzy,
When we do the stroll.
Come on, Miss Lizzy,
love me fore I grow too old.
Come on, give me fever,
Put your little hand in mine.
You make me dizzy, Miss Lizzy,
Girl, you look so fine.
You're just a-rockin' and a-rollin',
I sure do wish you were mine.
You make me dizzy, Miss Lizzy,
When you call my name.
O-o-o-o-oh baby,
Say you're driving me insane.
Come on, come on, come on, baby,
I want to be your loving man.
Run and tell your mama
I want you to be my bride.
Run and tell your brother,
Baby, don't run and hide.
You make me dizzy, Miss Lizzy,
And I want to marry you.
Come on, give me fever,
Put your little hand in mine.
You make me dizzy, Miss Lizzy,
Girl, you look so fine.
You're just a-rockin' and a-rollin',
I sure do wish you were mine.
{Cut back to the stage}
Thomas: That was pretty good for a warm up, but some of you kids out there were hardly singing at all. This time, I really want to hear you. But first, we'll have to have the proper setting. Prop girl! Oh, prop girl!
Emily: Right here, Thomas!
Thomas: Now, Emily, for this next song, I should like you to decorate the stage in a way to make the folks out there want to join in.
Emily: I know just the thing! {exits}
Thomas: And now, while Emily is getting the props to set the stage, I want-
Emily: Here it is!
{Emily is dressed as a soldier, and with her is an Uncle Sam poster.}
Thomas: What on earth is that thing have to do with our next song?
Emily: Well, you said you wanted something that will make the people want to join.
Thomas: I meant join in, not join up!
Emily: In, up, what's the difference?
Thomas: This is in, {shoves helmet over Emily's smokebox} this is up, {tosses Emily in the air} this is down, {Emily lands on the stage} and this is OUT!! {throws Emily and poster off stage}
Emily: That was ridiculous! {laughs}
Thomas: All right. Now, let's hear it, folks!
The Beatles:
Close your eyes and I'll kiss you,
Tomorrow I'll miss you;
Remember I'll always be true.
And then while I'm away,
I'll write home ev'ry day,
And I'll send all my loving to you.
I'll pretend That I'm kissing
the lips I am missing
And hope that my dreams will come true.
And then while I'm away,
I'll write home ev'ry day,
And I'll send all my loving to you.
All my loving I will send to you.
All my loving, darling I'll be true.
Close your eyes and I'll kiss you,
Tomorrow I'll miss you:
Remember I'll always be true.
And then while I'm away,
I'll write home ev'ry day,
And I'll send all my loving to you
All my loving I will send to you.
All my loving darling I'll be True.
All my loving All my loving ooh
All my loving I will send to you
Part Two
Narrator: Later that night, the three engines arrived at the forest with Dennis and Zack the J83.
Dennis: {yawns} Can we just find this ghost and get out of here? I'm still tired!
Zack: Hey, we didn't come to hear you complain!
Dennis: Oh, shut up, you North Eastern rat!
Narrator: The four engines burst into an argument. Eagle knew what to do...
{Eagle blows his whistle loudly. Molly and Zack clench their teeth, Dennis' eyes become X's, and Neville's eyes shows swirls.}
Dennis: Aah! Sheesh, Eagle! Did you have to do that? You nearly popped my eyes out!
Eagle: Sorry, but I just did it so we could get back to our hunt!
Narrator: At that moment, a great cloud of steam rose about 20 meters away from where they were on the track and a puffing noise could be heard from the steam and from it came a white, steam engine with smoke emerging from it. The engines watched in amazement. The ghost stopped next to them.
Ghost: What are you doing here?
Dennis: Why are you here, ghost train?
Ghost: Ghost?
Narrator: Zack shone his light on the ghost to reveal a friendly smile on the smokebox and a white boiler and cab.
Zack: Here's your ghost, Eagle! It's mine and Molly's old friend from the LNER!
Nigel: My name is Nigel, after my designer. I'm terribly sorry for startling you.
Eagle: I'm Eagle, and this is Neville and Dennis.
Narrator: Neville and Dennis were too frightened to utter a word. The next day, Molly and Zack brought Nigel to meet Sir Topham Hatt at Knapford.
Nigel: Hello, old friend!
Narrator: Sir Topham Hatt was stunned when he saw the white V2.
Sir Topham Hatt: N-Nigel? It's been so long!
Zack: You know each other?
Sir Topham Hatt: Nigel was my first steam engine! He belonged to my grandfather before my father inherited him in his will. When I took control of the North Western Railway, I didn't have the funds to repair Nigel and locked him away in a shed in the forests. I'll get him sent to the works for an overhaul!
Narrator: Two months later, Nigel was mended and had a new coat of apple green paint of the LNER, a new set of wheels, coupling, and side rods. He now works at Norramby branch line pulling mixed traffic trains. He is firm friends with Molly, Zack, Eagle, Neville, and Dennis. The others teased him at first and called him "Eagle's Ghost", but Nigel doesn't mind since he did give him a fright two months ago.
