Fanfic: The Sodor Engines Specials: Sodor, Part Three

From TrainSpottingWorld, for Rail fans everywhere

Plot

James and Henry, while taking a goods train ot the other railway, discover an evil scheme to take over Sodor.

Script

Narrator: Meanwhile, James and Henry were puffing across the countryside with a goods train.

James: Hurry! If we make it back before nightfall, there’s a chance Thomas won’t take my favorite shed space.

Narrator: But by the time they reached their destination, a scrapyard on the other railway, it was very dark. The two engines had just been uncoupled and were waiting for the signal to change when Henry saw a strange shape glide into the yard.

Henry: W-W-W-What’s that?

James: Be quiet. It’s just one of those diesels. Nothing to worry about.

Henry: What’s a diesel doing here? All of the trains were finished long ago.

Narrator: Just then, a voice broke the silence.

Voice: Are we all here?

Henry: (Whispering) It’s coming from the other side of these trucks!

Narrator: James suddenly realized who it was. Diesel 10! The two engines could just see him. He was facing Diesel and an unknown engine who was shrouded in shadow. On either side of Diesel 10 were two small diesels. One’s nameplate read DODGE, the other SPLATTER.

Diesel: Yes we are.

Diesel 10: I’ve called you all here for a very important reason. For too long diesels have been held back by steamies. (Disgustedly) Steamies! Old, rusty piles of scrap. They block progress. They’re useless! A waste of track! Most steam engines have slowly been replaced by diesels. But there is one place that steamies have stayed for too long! Sodor! Before we diesels can take over Sodor, first we must get rid of the steamies.

Dodge: But boss, there are a whole lot of steamies.

Splatter: How can we take over all of them?

Diesel 10: Silence! I got a plan! First, I’ve recruited many diesels to our cause. Tonight, I’m going to sneak around and put sand in the steamies’ coal!

Narrator: James and Henry were horrified. Every engine knew that sand poisoned an engine, clogging their firebox, and blocking up their systems.

Diesel 10: Then, once all of the steamies are out of order, my diesels will shunt them to the smelters’ yard. I’ve also got one more part of the plan. To make sure all of the steamies are eliminated, I going to take out a very important engine.

Unknown Engine: The engines talk of a tank engine called Lady. She gives the steamies the energy they need to run like they do. We take her out- poof! All of our enemies are gone.

James: (Whispering) That’s ridiculous! Everyone knows that’s just a story!

Diesel 10: So here’s what I want. I’ll poison the coal. Splodge-

Splatter: You mean Splatter.

Dodge: And Dodge.

Diesel 10: I don’t have time to say both names! What I call you, you respond to!

Splodge: Yes Boss.

Diesel 10: Anyway, I want you two to find my diesels and tell them what’s up. Diesel, you know what to do. And you (points claw at unknown engine) find that Lady!

Dodge: Find the steamies. Gotcha.

Diesel 10: I SAID DIESELS!

Narrator: Diesel 10 swung his claw in Dodge’s direction, but instead knocked over the trucks James and Henry were hiding behind.

Diesel: It’s two steamies!

Diesel 10: Stop them!

Narrator: James and Henry pumped their pistons and raced away. Diesel charged after them.

(James, Diesel, and Henry race out of the scrap yard, over the Walney channel, and into the Sodor countryside)

Narrator: The three engines rocketed down the line, but the gap between them was growing smaller.

Diesel: When I catch you-

Henry: Look out!

Narrator: Henry had seen what James and Diesel had not: they had been diverted onto the wrong line, and the track ended a few feet forward. Henry and James screeched to a halt just in time, but Diesel kept going and rolled off the rails.

(Diesel rolls off the rails and ends up stuck in some mud, several meters from the rails)

Diesel: Help me, please!

James: We must warn the other engines about the coal!

Narrator: And the two tender engines headed to the sheds.

(James and Henry puff away)

Narrator: They didn’t see a big diesel drag Diesel back on the rails, and take him over to four other ones.

(The diesels move away)
