Thomas is a friendly old tank engien.

Bio

Thomas's origins are unclear. However, it is generally acknowledged he was working on the North Western Railway by 1980. He lived there for most of his life and had many friends as well as his own branch line. Thomas became a very famous engine, arguably the most famous in the world. But the good times didn't last. The North Western Railway closed down in 2031, leaving its engines without a home. Most were pruchased by the museums, but Thomas was accidentally lost in the auction process and sold to a small, poor railway. There, he was overworked and badly treated. Thomas's paint faded, his workings rusted, and his tubes clogged. When the railway closed in 2034, Thomas was refused entry by the museums, and he was forced to become a wanderer.

In 2048, Thomas rescued Johnny from two diesels. The two became allies and together attempted to rescue the engines of the Smoky Valley railroad. When Johnny was lost, Thomas led the other engines home. While there, he wouldn't work. Instead, he just sat in his shed and stared out into the distance. After Johnny returned, Thomas was back to his old self. Even though he was offered a place on the railway, Thomas refused, claiming that he preferred to wander. Dylan and Dulcie, two orphaned twins, decided to go with him, and Thomas let them.

He returned to the railway in 2050, and gave Johnny advice on how to reunite the raiwlay. His advise worked, but when Johnny returned to tell him the good news, Thomas had disappeared. His whereabouts are currently unknown.

Personality

Thomas, although old and world-weary, is a young engine at heart and can still be cheeky. He's a friendly soul and is a good companion. Thomas' relation with Johnny is an odd but close one; Thomas is a friend to the young 3F, a mentor, and almost a father figure.

Thomas is based on an E2 0-6-0 tank engine.
