Jay is a boastful old tender engine.
Bio
The oldest locomotive on the Smoky Valley Railroad, Jay was built in 1950 for the Norfolk and Western Railroad as #611. He only ran for several years before the his class was withdrawn in 1959. Due to the efforts of several men, including O. Winston Link, 611 was saved. In 1960, Jay (as he was now nicknamed) was donated to the Virginia Museum of Transportation in Roanoke, where he sat dormant for many decades. During the "Railway Renaissance", Jay was restored and ran some expresses for the museum before being sold to the Smoky Valley Railroad in 2029. There he works as the main passenger locomotive.
Perspnality
Jay is boastful and vain, with a snooty attitude that none of the other engines like. He likes to brag about his "famous runs" where he went "from Roanoke to Cincinnati- in one hour!". The other engines seriously doubt these boasts, and have learned to ignore him. Despite this, Jay has a good heart and occasionally shows it.

Jay is based on Norfolk and Western "J" Class, #611.
