It's great to be at Train Spotting World!
Dalek X, welcome to Train Spotting World
If this is the first time you've used a wiki you may have a few questions. Most of the answers are obvious. To learn to edit, why not just dive in? At the foot of the editing window there is a help link. This opens in a new window and gives you a good overview of wiki syntax and stuff.
There are very few rules here. The best summary is:
- Respect other people's Copyright
- Behave to others as you would like them to behave to you
- Do no harm
This is not an encyclopaedia. Pages here do not need to comply with encyclopaedic notions or citations or neutrality. Just dive in and start.
It's always worth having a look at Station announcements every so often, too.
One of the first things you might want to do is to place talktome at the top of your talk page (this page) above this welcome message. Taking heed of what it says will make it much easier for you to follow discussions on talk pages.
And while you browse the site, and especially when you've created something truly worthwhile, why not Digg and also tag on del.icio.us – the tools are in the left hand menu. The more Diggs (etc) we have the better, because Diggs and del.icio.us links add to our findability. The best way to find out about them is to click on the tool. Each is different and each gives you the chance to "rate" any article here. Or anywhere else come to that!
"Snap", the little link preview window, has options in it that you can tailor to meet your needs. If you like it, stay with the defaults. If not then you can turn it off easily
Best yet you have a Spotting World Blog if you want it. Have a look at your User page. There is a link to let you create your blog. This is part of what Spotting World does for you. Or just go to blogs.spottingworld.com. You can use your blog for any lawful purpose. It's yours to do with as you like. Anyone can read your blog once you create it, but only you can write to it.
There is also a live chat room - see the left hand menu
Any questions, please ask any user on their talk page.
And please tell all your friends about us
Nice to have you aboard
The TtTE articles are pretty difficult to police for accuracy. Glad oyu have some authoritative knowledge here.
We're very easygoing here. Loads to things to design by consensus like admin processes. We're not wikipedia, and we want far less bureacracy, but we will need a bit :) Tim Trent 22:37, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
- The one thing we're short of at present is publicity. I don't mean "please spam our name everywhere", that would be counter-productive, but mentions are always good in relevant places. Word of mouth is probably the best publicity. We're a resource, to be used, alongside (eg) Thomas sites, alongside railfan sites.
- We're very keen on embedding videos, and in using Google Maps within articles. We don't have full encyclopaedic validation ciriteria like WP does, but we do, as you know, like facts, "especially about fiction".
- We hope more people will use the calendar for their events, and will do reports on the events for us.
- We're entirely supported by advertising which we hope is both relevant and non-intrusive. Tim Trent 06:21, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
I see. Well, I'd be more than happy to spread the word about this site to some of my friends who like Railways and Trains! I love it here! --Dalek X 20:33, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
- Glad you like it. Being "in at the start" is great fun, too! Ou articles have already diverged from the originals we sourced from wikipedia. We hope they diverge substantially more and that all who come here for information or to edit have fun.
- We do, of course, have to be very careful about copyright, especially of images. Otherwise our rules are verty simple and will evolve as we go. Tim Trent 20:38, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
Yes, we must indeed be careful of copyright. I just have one question, what did you mean when you said "Being 'in at the start'"? Thanks!--Dalek X 20:42, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
- Well, we launched in early 2007. This is our first year, and we're building gently. Almost no policies are in place, no bureaucracy exists (phew!) except that which editors create for themselves. I may be "co-founder" with Benrd, my business partner, but my "extra authority" only exists if we face (eg) a legal challenge. We want our users to build the place they want in the place we have created.
- Our objective is to provide a playground that builds into a real community of many disparate yet like minded souls :)
- Does that help? Tim Trent 20:56, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
It does, indeed! Thank you, Tim. Out of curiosity, does that "extra authority" include blocking people from editing or is that part of your regular authority? --Dalek X 21:03, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
- We have a few people with admin powers who can block. Obviously I have that. I use it without hesitation on spammers. we have no procedure for adminship. Usually I look (as do other admins) for an editor who cares passionately and who contributes. Then I ask and Appoint if they want it.
- By "extra authority" I mean that "someone's word" has to be law, and that I carry legal responsibility for the site and itse servers with Bernd. Tim Trent 21:11, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
I see. Interesting. So are you a "Thomas/Railway Series" Fan?
'Thomas' pages - recent edits
Hi. TSW has recently attracted a new user 'Kingshadow (talk · contribs)', who has made a number of edits to some of the Thomas merchandise pages. The two or three that I looked at appeared to be completely spurious information. Could you have a look and adjust as necessary please?
If these edits are considered 'vandalism', then we need to warn this user that such behaviour will not be tolerated, even if he has registered.
There's not a great deal of point in anyone adding 'Ideas'-type information here, although it does little harm if kept utterly separate from the main text. However, while this is not an encyclopaedia, there is no point maintaining lists of merchandise ranges if the information contained is untrustworthy.
Glad to have you aboard, by the way!
EdJogg 13:03, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks, EdJogg. I'd be glad to help in any way possible! Thank you for informing me of those edits. I'll just have a peek at some of this and see if we can't sort out Kingshadow.
- Thanks again!--Dalek X 22:11, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
- EdJogg, I took a look at them, cleaned up parts of it, and gave him a warning. Next time this hapens, I'll see what needs to be done. Thanks --Dalek X 23:50, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
We now have fan fiction
Since we cannot beat the spurious information we have decided to welcome it and segregate it :) See main categories Tim Trent 19:49, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
- That's great news, Tim! Wait, d'you mean that all of the threads are going to have an ideas column now? Anyhow, it sounds cool. Thanks --Dalek X 22:14, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
- All we need to do is to educate, educate and educate, and patiently clear up clutter as it appears. Ozzie7 is very keen on fan fiction and happy to learn, though seems a little inexperienced. And we can persuade the others into the fold. I've also started editing Thomas to reflect the new pages, and we have new categories.
- A major benefit is that this also takes pressure off the server (mediawiki software is a big consumer - look how often Wikipedia itself is slow as heck) because we are no longer edit waring.
- The idea was simple. Fan Fiction is inevitable, so let's welcome it. Tim Trent 22:36, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
- True, fan-fiction is inevitable, what with Train Spotting World being a free editing site. But, it's good to hear that we now have specified sections for fan-fiction. --Dalek X 17:13, 7 October 2007 (UTC)
I think you need a Shining Time template
And some categories. Otherwise the pages you're creating are going to get lost or be dead ends that lead nowhere.
Thomas isn't really right for the ST stuff, or is it?
Tim Trent 23:27, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
- Have a look at STS - there is much work needed, but I've started it off for you. Loads of stuff to get rid of and loads of ST stuff to add. Then you can add it to all the STS articles. Tim Trent 00:02, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
- I see what you mean. The Thomas Template wouldn't really work for Shining Time, would it? But, how would we go about making a Shining Time Template?--Dalek X 18:46, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
- Good work on the template, Tim. But, how do I get it to appear everytime I make a new article on STS?--Dalek X 04:38, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
- Mediawiki has a function called transclusion. Silly name, but explained at Wikipedia:Transclusion. Put simple, add STS to the foor of the article, but above the categories.
- You edit Template:STS inthe same way that you edit any page. It looks a bit frightening, so take it slow and steady and use the preview button a lot.
- Tim Trent 09:00, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
- Cool! Thanks for the info, Tim. I'll try it out when I get around to making a page for Tanya Cooper. I've just go one more question: How do you make a page get redirected to another page? Thanks--Dalek X 18:14, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
What shall we call our Village Pump?
Hello Dalek X!
Your input would be greatly appreciated on what to call our new Village Pump! Click 1 to have a look!
Thanks,
Bluegoblin7 15:58, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you fro notifying me about the naming of the Village Pump. If you check the page now you will see that I have given my input. I hope that whatever the name of the new Village Pump is, that it will be a very good Village Pump.
- Thank you again,
- --Dalek X 18:41, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
- Hi Dalek X,
- Cheers for voting: 1 note, you still have one more vote, and your votes must be 3, 2 and 1, rather than 1 and 1! (You can do 2 and 2 and 2 if you want, basically you get 6 points!)
- Bluegoblin7 20:02, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
- Actually 3, 2, 1 No variations. Anything else makes the entuire vote not count :) Tim Trent 23:23, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
- So, is there still time to vote? And if so, how many more votes do I have? --Dalek X 18:38, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
- You can vote until the ballot is closed. You have 3 votes in total. You need to award 3 points, 2 points and 1 point to each of three separate names Tim Trent 19:07, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
Hey
Oh, sorry for wasting the page, just wanted to say hi :D --S.C.Ruffeyfan 20:19, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
- Don't worry, S.C.Ruffeyfan, you're not wasting this page. I'm actually rather glad to meet some more people 'round here. I like it when people write stuff on my page. So, as long as you don't write anything rude to or about me, then you may post anything on my discussion page.
- Well, I hope I'll see you around here some time, S.C.Ruffeyfan! --Dalek X 04:35, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
Well, I'm not an internet bully, I just like making friends ;) --S.C.Ruffeyfan 19:09, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
- I never thought taht you were. I like making friends, to. So, do you like Thomas the Tank Engine/Shining Time Station/The Railway Series? --Dalek X 21:51, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
- I've seen STS on YouTube and I enjoy reading the books. The TV series is good as well. Also I'd love to be friends!!!! --S.C.Ruffeyfan 15:55, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
- Interesting. So, would you be interested in joining Workforce:Shining Time Station or Workforce:Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends? The Workforces on Train Spotting World are sort of like Wikiprojects on Wikipedia. So, since you'd love to be friends, then let's be friends. --Dalek X 01:10, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
- I've seen STS on YouTube and I enjoy reading the books. The TV series is good as well. Also I'd love to be friends!!!! --S.C.Ruffeyfan 15:55, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, dude. I'm participating in those. --S.C.Ruffeyfan 18:58, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
P.S. Like my new sig? Ask BG7 or TT to make one for you.
P.P.S. I made an article. You can visit it here: Ernest the Engine and Others
P.P.P.S. I moved all that fan-fic from my WP page cause it's inappropiate. It's now here.
- Yes, I do like your sig. Come to think of it, I jsut asked Bluegoblin7 to help me get one of my own. --Dalek X 22:33, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
- P.S.: I've made a couple of articles myself. You can find most of them on the Shining Time Station page, if you want to see them.
I saw. They're good. If you save a pic of each character, you could upload them. --S.C.Ruffeyfan 16:18, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
- P.S. Could you help me with my article? I don't know who acts in it.
- Do you mean you don't know who's in Shining Time, or you don't know who's in Earnest the Engine? If you're looking for people in Shining Time, I can definately help. Earnest the Engine, however, I don't know much about, but I'll still look in to it. --Dalek X 17:28, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
- P.S. Could you help me with my article? I don't know who acts in it.
I mean I don't know who narrates Ernest the Engine --S.C.Ruffeyfan 18:01, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
- I see. I don't know who narrates it, either, but I'll look into it. I should think that whoever puts it up on Youtube is the one who narrates it, but I could be wrong. --Dalek X 18:11, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
Well, he could just say "Oh, I narrate it, in fact I own it." but it won't be true. --S.C.Ruffeyfan 17:53, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
- Good point. I'll look around and see if I can find anything about the narrator. BTW, what do you think of my new sig? -DalekX
too cool, dude. --S.C.Ruffeyfan 13:45, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
A Proposal...
Hello Dalek X, I was just wondering if you would be interested in a Thomas project, similar to Wikiprojects at Wikipedia. We are proposing to begin with 2 project, TtTe and FanFic, which will expand as we get bigger. What do you think? Bluegoblin7 23:38, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
- Are you proposing a sort of Train Spotting World version of Wikiproject: Thomas? If so, I think it's a great idea and would be happy to help out! Also, though I'd have to discuss this with Tim, I think it would be a good idea to have a sort of Wikiproject: Shining Time Station.
- Grat idea, Bluegoblin7. As I said, I'd be happy to join in! --Dalek X 01:05, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, that is what I was thinking. I've asked some other users, but will get started tommorrow: and with the Shining Time Station Project: it is fine by me, i'm looking after the projects, and as long as it's TSW orientated, I don't care!!!
- Bluegoblin7 01:07, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
- Well, that is good news. So, does this mean a yes on the Project: STS idea? --Dalek X 01:14, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
- (edit conflict)
- Yep. Just a quick note though. If you could start it in your sandbox it would be a great help atm because i'm not sure of the extension to use infront of the name. Project is protected i think! Bluegoblin7 01:15, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
- Well, that is good news. So, does this mean a yes on the Project: STS idea? --Dalek X 01:14, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
(reset indent) Ok, what i've found is that Project won;t work. I then tried Workforce:STS, and this worked. It also keeps it with a railway theme! So, you can start it at Workforce:Shining Time Station, or Workforce:Thomas the Tank Engine. And don't forget Workforce:FanFic!. Will see how u r doing tommorrow... i'm signing off now. Bluegoblin7 01:53, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
- I begun the Thomas one at Workforce:Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends, and you can start the rest at Workforce:Shining Time Station, Workforce:Fan Fiction and Workforce:Trams. More will follow on the Trains:Projects page. Bluegoblin7 16:05, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
- I see. I've begun a little bit of work on Workforce:Shining Time Station. BTW, would you like to join? Well, since you're the creator, I would think you might, I jsut thought I'd ask before I put your name down. Thanks! --Dalek X 22:11, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
STS Workforce and a sig
Hello Dalek X, I am going to start wprk on a layout for the TTE and STS Workforces, but first we need some content - could you make some? Also, you may have noticed people are getting fancy sigs: would you like one? Cheers, Bluegoblin7 11:24, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, please. I'd very much like a sig. I'd also be happy to do some work on Workforce;STS and Workforce;Thomas! --Dalek X 22:29, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
- Ok. What colours/fonts would you like? Bluegoblin7 11:21, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
- I'd like it to be Arial font, and have "Dalek" be black, and "X" be Silver. Could we possibly arrange that? Thanks! --Dalek X 17:26, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
- Ok. Will have look. Also, do you want a link to your talk page in it? My 7 goes to my talk page, the rest to my user page. Bluegoblin7 19:02, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, I'd like the X to have a link to my talk page and Dalek to my user page. --Dalek X 00:23, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
- Ok. Will have look. Also, do you want a link to your talk page in it? My 7 goes to my talk page, the rest to my user page. Bluegoblin7 19:02, 22 November 2007 (UTC)

(reset indent) Ok. Right. You can have this: <font face="Arial"><font color="black">Dalek</font><font color="gray">X</font></font>, looking like this:DalekX, or, to pad it out a bit, this: <font face="Arial"><font color="black">Dalek</font><font color="gray">X</font></font>, which will look like this: DalekX. Do you like it? Bluegoblin7 11:24, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
Vandalism on Wiki
Yo, Dalek X. You know there are vandals on Wiki, I've found a horde of lies to share with you:
DVDs
Thomas Saves the Engines
Helping Together
Duncan Drops A Clanger and other Stories
Season 12
Patrick
Pinner
Marshall
Learning Segments
The Adventures of Ryan Healy :D
Characters
Patrick (two of them)
Gerty
Hope you enjoy reading the lies. NOTE: Ryan Healy is a member of SiF. --S.C.Ruffeyfan 12:15, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, trust me, S.C.Ruffeyfan, I'm very aware of who Ryan Healy, the admin of SiF, is. But, how does he betray Thomas? --Dalek X 21:27, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
Probably because he made The Yard. --S.C.Ruffeyfan 18:15, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
- Actually, Ryan didn't make The Yard. His Head Moderator, Ciremi, did. I do remember watching the yard a couple of times. It was EXTEREMLY inappropriate, and very offensive to some people.
- Ahyhow, did you sort out all of the spam, or should I come and help you? Thanks. -DalekX
Oh, I didn't know that. If Ciremi likes Thomas so much, why did he make it? Oh, I'll delete the bit saying Ryan betrays Thomas now. I can't believe Ciremi made it. I wasn't a member of Wiki at the time. I only joined this year. --S.C.Ruffeyfan 18:04, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
- I'm not sure why Ciremi made it. Probably because he thought it would be a good laugh. After all, SiF is supposedly one of the most mature Thomas sites, and The Yard uses a lot of "adult" humor. Hope this helps. -DalekX
I know. They had that adult parody pack with Mikey and Scarface. My rating for it: 1 out of 10. --S.C.Ruffeyfan 13:23, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
- Ah, so you've read stuff in the Parody Pack, too? Cool! I remember that in the original Parody Pack (back in 2005, or was it 2006?) that one of the members named Alaric did a HILARIOUS version of the Duck & Diesel trilogy! Have you read any of Alaric's parodies? --DalekX 03:02, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
Well, not really. I found it offensive and didn't look at it again. --S.C.Ruffeyfan 10:08, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
A Challenge...
Hey Dalek X...
I have a challenge for you! Could you possible make the Workforce page for STS a bit better, more like some of the wikiprojects? And add it to the STS template?
Let me know if you accept, and i'll show you some good examples etc!
Bluegoblin7 11:13, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
- Sure, I'm up for it. But I'll need you to show me some examples first. - DalekX</font 22:22, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
- Ok. Well, over at WP, good examples include Wikiproject Derbyshire, WikiProject Greater Manchester, and all the railway ones (UKRailways, Trains and London Transport). Use the best bits from each is what I say, and if you copy the whole page, it (should) all work here.
- Good Luck!
- Bluegoblin7 22:26, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
Singing posts...
Hey there, just a reminder that posts should generall be signed with four tildes (~~~~), rather than the 3 ouve been using. This is just so it adds a date so people know when you replied! Bluegoblin7 22:30, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
- All right, I'll try to remember that in future Dalek X 23:03, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
- Just thought: I think I forgot to say that to use your signature i made when you sign with tildes, you need to copy and paste it into the signature section on my preferences. DO NOT tick rew html (or similar)
- Cheers,
- Bluegoblin7 11:24, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
- I just looked in "My Prefrences" and didn't see anything that said "signature". I saw something taht said "nickname", is that what you meant? I'll have another look, and get back to you. --Dalek X 01:18, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
[reset indent]] Yes, it is that. and you do need to press raw signature... my bad! (will have a think if it still dunt work!!!) Bluegoblin7 11:25, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
Re:Transport Journal (TJ)
Hi Dalek,
To get the TJ, click here, and follow the links to subscribing, then follow the instructions there. I'll drop issue 1 here in a few mins, but be aware it might screw up your talk page as there are some teething problems!
If you have any problems, drop me a line!
Thanks,
BG7 10:04, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks, BG! I'll certainly have fun reading it. Just one more question If I wanted to submit an article, how would I be able to do it?

Here you go! The latest issue! (Please note it's collapsible and therefore the [show] link must be clicked first!)
An offer...
Hello Dalek X,
Would you like to be the local editor of the Transport Journal? We've just imported the whole project to SpottingWorld, and the ones at Trains and Planes are local copies.
We need help to make this new system work. Basically, you have to patrol the TJ pages here (add them to your watchlist), and when there changed, make the same changes at SpotWorld for the main editors.
When the new issue comes out, you should also copy it to the relevant page.
Up to the challenge?
If so, let me know and i'll give you the full job spec!
BG7 17:37, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
- I have a couple questions for you. To begin with, what are the TJ pages? Are they the pages that have info about the Journal, the people who sign up to get the Journal, or both?
- Oh, and about that offer, I'll think on it for a while and get back to you.
- Thanks!
- --DalekX 20:45, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
- The TJ pages are all those that are linked to from the main TJ page. Basically, what the job would entail is the following:
- During the week, check all the pages, and any new material either notify me of or copy to the central hub at SW.
- When the new issue is released, you will need to change links to Trains:The Transport... instead of just The Transport... and then deliver it to the subscribers
- Write an editorial or similar for the TSW section, aswell as the content to go in.
- Thats pretty much it - not make sense? Don't worry - i'll do you an easier version if it's a yes!
- Thanks,
- BG7 20:58, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
- I'm still going to think about it for a little bit. I just have three more questions:
- What do you mean by check all the pages? Does that mean I have to check every single page on TSW and notify you of updates to them?
- No. All you have to do is look at the TJ pages and if someone subscribes, leaves a comment, signs up to help or submit content copy it to the SpotWorld page
- How do I change the links from The Transport... to Trains:The Transport...?
- Don't worry about this i've put a fix in place to do it for you.
- I know what an editorial is, but what exactly do you mean by I have to write an editorial?
- If you look at issue three, you wil notice that me and Tbo 157 have written a short passage underneath the Tsw and Psw sections respectively. That is it.
- I'm still going to think about it for a little bit. I just have three more questions:
- The TJ pages are all those that are linked to from the main TJ page. Basically, what the job would entail is the following:
- I have answeresd you qs within... BG7 17:25, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
- So, basically, I have to Watch the TJ pages, notify you of any change, and write something in the TSW announcemtments section? Is that correct? If I've got it right, then I'll take the job. If I haven't, then i'll need you to explain it one more time, please.
- Thanks for your help! --DalekX 17:33, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

Books of The Railway Series
Thanks for creating these pages, they are useful to expand coverage of the Railway Series more effectively.
I have done some light copy-editing in all five processed to date, and adjusted the lead paragraphs. I have also added a category to the pages (Note the numbers -- a means of forcing them to be listed in the correct order within the category.
It strikes me that the books which 'duplicate' character article names should be as similar to the book names as possible. I was thinking along the lines of James the Red Engine and James the Red Engine (book). This would also avoid the need for the DAB pages.
EdJogg 02:22, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, it would help if I gave them that name, wouldn't it? Thanks for your help, EdJogg! BTW, do you have any info on Book 37: "Henry and the Express" or Book 39: "Thomas and the Fat Controller's Engines"? They're the only two books I don't have, and I'm trying to get info on them.
- Aha! Well, as of Christmas I am now the proud owner of all 41 books!! (Having several different versions in some cases.) Will have to see what we can do when you get to that point in the series.
- Incidentally, you are quite justified in adding an image of the respective book cover to each page. This is the correct 'free use' for these images. (I am still working on a template for the FURs for these covers...they are all already present on TSW.)
- EdJogg 00:40, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
- Ah, yes. Well, I was considering doing that just earlier today. In fact, I think I shall. Thanks for the idea, EdJogg. Oh, and when I get 'round to them, I'm going to need some info on "Henry & the Express" and "Thomas & the Fat Controller's Engines", if that's all right.
- BTW, which Rev. Awdry books are your favorte? Which Chris Awdry books are your favorite? Mine are: "Duck & the Diesel Engine", "Mountain Engines", and "Duke the Lost Engine" by Rev. Awdry, and "Great Little Engines", "Wilbert the Forest Engine", and "Thomas & Victoria" by Christopher Awdry.
- Thanks! --DalekX 16:16, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

Hi Dalek, here it is as promised!
Could you possibly handle delivery from now on? Tbo (talk · contribs) might be popping along later aswell to explain your editor job a bit more in depth...
Thanks!
BG7 18:31, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, I could probably handle the delivery for now. Um, I think you should no in advance that there will be a week in February where I won't be able to do it because I'll be out of town. But, that's not until like, mid-February. Just lettin' you know. But, I should be able to deliver the Journal, once you tell me how. Thanks!
- DalekX 21:34, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
- HI. Bg7 is busy this weekend so can you do the trains section on the transport journal at spottingworld. Thanks Tbo 19:55, 19 January 2008 (UTC)
- By that, do you mean, can I edit the announcements section of the Journal? If so, I'm already starting out with that. I'll certainly be able to. --DalekX 01:50, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, I do. See sworld:SpottingWorld:The Transport Journal/Issue 5. Tbo 11:59, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

Just popping in briefly - to deliver the journal, the easiest way is to copy the code from the last issue, and change the issue number to the current one, and change the delivery notice. I'm working on a template to deliver it that you can just in.
Thanks,
BG7 14:55, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
- So, how do I deliver the Journal? I'll probably do it tomorrow or Tuesday, but how? --DalekX 01:29, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
- Hi Dalek,
- Firstly, copy the issue from SpotWorld to here, using the page Trains:The Transport Journal/Issue 5. Then, on Trains:The Transport Journal/Current Issue, change the last issue to this issue, so '4' to '5'. Then, copy the following code as you see it, without pressing edit into the people who want the TJ, that can be found at Trains:The Transport Journal/About.
- That should be it!
- The code:
-
<div>
style="background-color: #FFFFFF; text-align: center;" |The Transport Journal
style="border: solid 1px grey;"|

</div>
- Then add a delivery message either before the final |} or after the final </div>.
- Thanks,
- BG7 11:20, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

Fanfic Thomas stuff
Hey, X, we haven't talked in a while. I just wanted to know your own fanfic TTTE ideas. Here are mine:
- Lionel Thomas ideas
- Thomas spin-off ideas
- Misc Thomas ideas
See ya, --S.C.Rf 18:34, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
PS:Like my new abreviated sig?
- I like your ideas, S.C.Ruffeyfan! Very nice. I had one of my own a little while ago, and I put it up in the Fan-fic section. It's called "Railway Seris Tie-in Books". You know, such as the real tie-ins "Thomas & the Missing Christmas Tree", "Thomas' Christmas Party", and "Thomas & the Evil Diesel", but these are ones that you think up taht have something to do with characters from the Railway Series.
- You're quite right. It has been quite a while since we've talked. So, what've you been up to?Dunno if you heard the news, I'm one of the editors for the Transport Journal. I'm just starting out, though, so Bluegoblin7 is helping me.
- Great to hear from you, man. Keep in touch! --DalekX 22:47, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
- P.S.: Yes, I do like your abbreviated sig.
Cool, I like how you're editor for The Transport Journal, we should help improve a few FanFic articles and make new articles. Also I have a new idea: The LNER Times; starring every LNER engine! See ya, dude! --S.C.Rf 16:17, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
- Pretty good idea. I'll probably write something in the Journal about expanding the fan-fic articles this weekend when I get 'round to working on it.
Nothing really. But I did go swimming. --S.C.Rf 19:42, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

Edit summaries
Hi. Just a little request. Could please you try to add an edit summary when you post? This makes it a bit easier for us who keep a distant eye on edits made to the Wiki. (If you like, you can change your preferences (see link at top right) to prompt you if you attempt a save without providing an edit summary.)
Cheers! -- EdJogg 10:05, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
- Sure thing, EdJogg! I'll try to remember that in future.
I can't find you on Facebook, X cn you link to your FB profile thanks--S.C.Rf 15:17, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

- Hi SC, it's just your age. You have to be 12 i think.
- I've removed the link to your facebook, aswell as the send message part, as i'm an admin and therefore have to protect the community... this is not suitable.
- Dalek, if you have an email address, I suggest adding it so you can be emailed. Same with you SC.
- Finally, the best way to stay connected is actually to use the Geesee Chat on the left. While not everyone will be on all the time, it's still good to hang around!
- Chat to me!
- Thanks,

TJ
Hi Dalek X. Could you help me with the TJ over at spottingworld. Thanks. Tbo 13:35, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
- I'd be glad to. I've been helping since issue 4 or 5. What d'you need me to do, aside from what I already do? --DalekX 19:19, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
- Well, BG is away at the moment so I was hoping that you could just help with the trains stuff. Ive done the editors notes and Ill do the Planes section but im not on Trains enough to know whats going on so I was hoping you could do the trains sections and the community section. Have a look at Sworld:SpottingWorld:The Transport Journal/Issue 8. Is that ok? Tbo 21:02, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
Re: Best of Henry
Hey X, I saw your question about Best of Henry. As I know a lot about US TtTE dvds and there is not a BoH dvd. But you can see something like it on YouTube. That is all. --S.C.Rf 17:03, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks, mate. I thought there wasn't, but I needed confirmation from another Thomas fan. Some user put it up in the upcoming vids in the video releases section. I think Edjogg deleted it yesterday. Thanks again! --DalekX 19:18, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
- Nope, I only commented it out...but having seen your discussion I've now deleted it. :o)

Here's the TJ #9, X.--S.C.Rf 17:23, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
Normal stuff
Hi X,
We haven't chatted in a long time. Anyway, have you seen what HiT is doing to Thomas? They're spending a load of money on TGD and they've made it CGI! Also, sadly, George Carlin and David Mitton died! This has to be a rather sad year for us Thomas fans. Anyway, what's been happening with me? Well, my teacher at school is just being hard on me, I found out I'm not the youngest in my year group and I got a Nintendo Wii! My games are: Wii Play (obviously), Wii Sport (obviously), Sonic and the Secret Rings, Sega Superstars Tennis, Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games, Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz and Ultimate Board Game Collection. I also got two Ertl Theodore Tugboat models and Ertl Peter Sam. See ya, --S.C.Rf 19:33, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
- Hey, S.C.Rf,
- Yeah, I saw what HiT is gonna do with "Thomas". The CGI faces are probably gonna be creepy! Their mouths are gonna move, and that's just wrong. Yes, I heard the sad news. It has been a sad year for "Thomas' fans. Ah, well. We'll always have our memories of what it used to be. It's kinda like that song "These Are the Days of Our Lives" by Queen. "Those were the days of our lives, the bad things in life were so few. Those days are are gone now, but one thing is true, when I look, I find I still love you."
- Well, that stinks. When do you get out of school? You got a Nintendo Wii? That's awesome, man! Which Theodore models did you get? Do you have any TUGS models?
- See ya! --DalekX 15:22, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
I get out of school in about two weeks, and I got Carla and Foduck as the TT models. And no I don't have any TUGS models. I wish I could find them. I now have LEGO Indiana Jones and Super Mario Galaxy for my Wii! See ya, --S.C.Rf 17:14, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
Something great I saw in Thomas today...
Type in Steady Eddie on YouTube and you watch the episode. Then you'll see a character who has been long awaited to return...
Ah, enough with that riddler stuff now. :P Yeah, S12 is on YouTube now, X. Strangely, Michael Angelis is narrating it. :I Anyway, the eps are in bad quality but you can still enjoy it. As soon as I know how to put TV programmes onto DVD, I could send you Steady Eddie if you want it. See ya, mate. --S.C.Rf 17:29, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
- Hey, S.C.Rf,
- I saw "Thomas & the Billboard", "Steady Eddie", and part of "Rosie's Funfair Special" on Youtube. Unfortunately, HiT has taken them off. So, I saw the return of Oliver, Arthur, and Stepney.
- In other news, how's it going? See ya! --DalekX 17:24, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
