Can you replace the $1 sign with "Login or register link on the top right hand corner" so that it makes sense when ips read it. Thanks. Class91 21:34, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

What was the previous problem when an IP read it? Actually I will rollback and check it myself after logging out. Tim Trent Talk to me 00:33, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
This is based on a misunderstanding of the way mediawiki works. I have checked this page when in use by an IP only user with the $1 syntax and it functions perfectly. It displays the login link, correctly, not the string $1, and, once you log in, returns you to the correct page. Regrettably Class91 seems not to have followed this through (unless someone demonstrates differently to me) and it is a simple misunderstanding.
The $ strings work as designed. Unless, of course, you know different.
I have reverted back to $1. It was no typo. Tim Trent Talk to me 00:40, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

GFDL

Please double check to ensure that the version of the GFDL you have created meets the version that is available on every page (bottom left hand corner).

We deliberately did not create it here because it exists there.

I'd prefer your document to link to the actual licence than to replicate anything there simply because of the dangers of getting out of step.

Tim Trent Talk to me 00:31, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

OK understood. If you're content with the GFDL link then I will leave it at that and delete the page.

I see nothing at all wrong with a page that says something like "The G.. D.. F.. L.. is here: full explicit link. It is also linked from the foot of every page." Your concept was excellent. Tim Trent Talk to me 09:36, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

Model Railway Loco infobox...

Hi Dp - i've used the box here to trial it out - what do you think?

Also, could you possibly do an info box for layouts?

Thanks,

BG7 13:51, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

P.S. If you need any tips with your N gauge, ask me - i may model in the larger scale of 00 (HO in the US!), but believe me stuff i know you will find useful and vice-versa, and I have many friends who model in the ridiculous scale of Z...

Another template challenge?...

Hi DP,

I've got another template for you if you're up to it!

You may have noticed that i've been adding some articles on specific trams. At the end of each, there is a "factfile". These have all been reproduced here. Up to it?

I could also do with a template saying "this article is to do with trams. If Trains gets enough tram content, we could get a new wiki...TramSpottingWorld! Please contribute to this article or start a new one!" or similar.

Thanks,

Do you want them in a typical infobox style or did you have something else in mind? I can put together some page headers too, no problem.

Infobox would probably work best please!
I'm about to start Southampton Corporation Tramways No. 45, the first tram to run at the National Tramway Museum, and it's got a completely different factsbox from when i originally wrote it. So i suggest wait until thats done (i'll let you know.)
Thanks,

Woops. Wrong tram. I meant London County Council Tramways No. 106! That should be online any minute!
BG7 18:29, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
Hi DP,
I've deployed the infobox at London County Council No. 1 "Bluebird", but it's confusing me. The docs don't really help either. Plus some isn't really relevant to trams. Could you possibly take a look? Infoboxes scare me...

Adminship at Planes?

Hi DP, do you want adminship at planes?

Also, how active are you going to be there? We are going to make a largish push over the next few months.

Thanks,

BG7 20:00, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

Hi, Not sure how active I can be but I can pop in and keep an eye on things as often as I can. I don't know too much about planes other than they fly.. lol --DP67 (talk/contribs) 21:17, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

Transport Journal

Hi DP67. Can I ask for your comments at Trains:Station Cafe (Left Luggage)#Transport Journal. Comments for the TJ are valuable and we are lacking comments so far. If readers are not satisfied or there are too few readers, it needs a change. Thanks. Tbo 13:01, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

Speedy Templates...

Hi DP,

Did you do these over here? If so, could you please make sure that {{Db}} works?

Also, a REALLY BIG favour... could you do the same at planes?...

Thanks,
