Oregon Electric Railway Historical Society
The Oregon Electric Railway Historical Society (OERHS) is a heritage railway of electric streetcar and railway enthusiasts. The group was founded in 1957, and operated a trolley park in Glenwood, Washington County, Oregon from 1967 to 1995. OERHS is named in honor of the Oregon Electric Railway, a former interurban electric rail line in the Willamette Valley.
The OERHS currently operates the Willamette Shore Trolley between Portland and Lake Oswego, as well as the Oregon Electric Railway Historical Museum in Brooks, Oregon. The museum is on the grounds of Antique Powerland, just west of I-5.
Two former Portland Council Crest streetcars are the jewels of the OEHRS collection. Other antique streetcars at the museum include an open air car from Sydney Australia, double-deckers from Blackpool, England, and Hong Kong, and a large interurban car from Vancouver, BC.
Although mostly concerned with preserving streetcars and electric railway equipment, the OERHS has also collected a modern Boeing-Vertol streetcar from Muni, and has acquired a collection of electric buses. With the exception of a former Portland Brill Master Unit (Broadway Car) being used on the Willamette Shore Trolley, the entire collection is based in Brooks.
