Use

The last true GP49s are owned by the Alaska Railroad. The railroad is planning on selling all of its GP-series locomotives except for the GP49s, which it plans to keep as a lease fleet.

Tri-Rail in Florida has bought six rebuilt GP49s for use on commuter trains in Florida. [1]
