The Midland Pullman

The Midland Pullman was the name given to a former express passenger train service operating on British Railways Midland Mainline between London St Pancras and Manchester via Leicester. The train completed the journey in four and a quarter hours.
Blue Pullman
There was a brief return to glory in British Railways days when it was re-introduced as one of the two Blue Pullman services from 1960, during the electrification of the West Coast Main Line. This stopped only at Cheadle Heath (now closed) and made the journey in three and a quarter hours. The service was withdrawn in 1966 and replaced by the electric locomotive-hauled Manchester Pullman.
