NOTES

1)The turntable was installed to permit the equipment to be turned to run in either direction. This was necessary to equalize the wear on the locomotive wheels, thereby doubling their life. The locomotive is turned at least six times a year. In addition, the turntable permits the Volunteers to respot equipment on different tracks are it is being worked on.

2)The barn was doubled in size to permit the extensive restoration work to be done on the cable car. The space here and the electric crane have proven invaluable. The pace of the restoration work has increased dramatically.

3) Of these members, approximately 45 are residents of Poway. The remainder, all non-residents, value the importance and significance of Poway’s railroad to contribute their time, energies and money in support thereof.
