- 1859 – The Bedford Railroad, a predecessor of the Huntingdon and Broad Top Mountain Railroad, is incorporated in Pennsylvania.
- 1862 – The Brooklyn, Bath and Coney Island Railroad, the first steam locomotive-hauled railway to Coney Island, is incorporated.[1]
- 1934 – A majority of the stockholders of the New York Railways Corporation vote in favor of dissolving the New York and Harlem Railroad in New York City.
- 1983 – Pere Marquette 1225 is moved from static display at Michigan State University to Owosso, Michigan, where it will be restored to operating condition.[2]
