Danbury Railway Museum

From TrainSpottingWorld, for Rail fans everywhere

The Danbury Railway Museum is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to operate a railway museum in Danbury, Connecticut, to educate the public on the history of railroading and the role of the railroads as a part of their local and national heritage.

The museum itself is located on White Street. It is essentially a railroad yard full of unrestored railroad equipment. Visitors can take a ride in a train every half hour. The ride takes 25 minutes and on the way back to the museum, passengers are allowed to ride on the turntable and go inside the cabooses, steam locomotives, and a passenger diesel railcar.
