Class 5MT

A Class 5MT is a 4-6-0 steam locomotive built by the London, Midland & Scottish Railway and British Railways.

Preservation

In the LMS Stanniers, 44767, 44806, 44871, 44901, 44932, 45000, 45025, 45110, 45163, 45212, 45231, 45293, 45305, 45337, 45379, 45407, 45428 and 45491 have survived.

And in the BR standards, 73050, 73082, 73096, 73129 and 73156 have survived

Other class 5MT's

There were two other types: crabs and 2-6-0 moguls. The moguls were first numbered 13245-84, but were renumbered 2945-84. At that time, the crab locomotives were renumbered 2700-2944.

Preservation

In the 2-6-0 moguls, only one (42968) is preserved. From the crab locomotives, two of them (42700 and 42765) are surviving.
