- February 29 - The United States National Mediation Board issues a decision in a dispute between Union Pacific Railroad, the United Transportation Union and the Broterhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen asserting that train crew reductions to a single employee do not constitute a new job craft or class.[1]
