Stansted Express is the direct train service linking central London (Liverpool Street station) to Stansted Airport, one of London's major air hubs. Stansted Express is owned and operated by National Express Group, and operated as part of NEG's 'One' Train Operating Company, which holds the franchise for the majority of services in the Anglia region, and suburban services from Liverpool Street Station. Prior to 2004 Stansted Express was a separate franchise.
The service runs every 15 or 30 minutes with a journey time of approximately 45 minutes. The service also calls at Tottenham Hale for connection to the London Underground and easier access to the West End and North London. Stansted Express utilises a dedicated fleet of nine Class 317/7 EMUs.
