Sendai Airport Line
The Sendai Airport Line, or Sendai Airport Access Line (仙台空港アクセス線 Sendai Kūkō akusesu sen?) is under construction in Natori, Miyagi, Japan. The third-sector Sendai Airport Transit Co., Ltd. (SAT) is constructing the line to carry passengers to the Sendai Airport. Construction began in 2002. The construction cost is expected to reach 34.9 billion yen, and it may take as long as thirty years before the railway turns a profit.[1]. Rail service is planned to start on March 18, 2007.

Stations

SAT has ordered six E721 cars for use in two-car trainsets. The stainless-steel bodies enclose a barrier-free design and have a top speed of 120 km/h. LED indicators will show the stations and destination. Announcements will be in foreign languages. [1]
Connections
From Natori Station, service to Sendai Station via the Tohoku Main Line is planned, providing quick access to the city center and Tōhoku Shinkansen express trains. This 17.5 km trip will take 17 minutes (rapid service) or 23 minutes (local service). Trains can be up to six cars in length. Besides being faster than existing bus services from the city, with a fare of 400 yen from Natori Station, or 630 yen from Sendai Station, the rail service is also less expensive.
