Murthwaite Locomotive Group

The Murthwaite Locomotive Group, formerly known as Shabtrak, is an organisation based on the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, a 15" gauge line in Cumbria. They are part of the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway Preservation Society and own the shunter locomotive Cyril.

  • Cyril - 4wDM shunter built by R.A. Lister of Dursley in 1932. Named after a former railway company employee, Cyril Holland.

Departmental Stock

  • The Emergency & Utilities (Red) Van - Bogie Utility Van, built by Page Engineering of Millom in 1990, used as part of the permanent way train. The vehicle carries generators and tools, is air braked and handbraked.
