Commemorating the arrival of the first train to Mineral Point, Wisconsin, 150 years ago, the depot museum will be open for free to the public and will host several presentations relating to local railroad history. Presentations on Saturday include: The history and life of the hobo; by Luther "The Jet" Gette. The Milwaukee Road in Mineral Point; by Bob Storozuk, president Milwaukee Road Historical Association. Milwaukee Road cabooses; by Jeff Kehoe. Photos of railroading in southern and southeastern Wisconsin; by John Gruber, founder Center for Railroad Photography and Art. Several authors of books related to Wisconsin railroad history will be on hand to sign and sell copies of their works on Saturday. Although the scheduled activities will occur on Saturday, the museum will be open for free on Sunday as well.
