Joetsu Line

From TrainSpottingWorld, for Rail fans everywhere

The Joetsu Line (上越線 Jōetsu-sen?) is a major rail line in Japan. Part of the JR East system, it runs from Takasaki, Gunma Prefecture, to Miyauchi Station, Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture, linking the northwestern Kantō region and the Koshinetsu part of the Chubu region. The 2004 Chuetsu Earthquake seriously damaged the Joetsu Line, causing JR East to close it for about two months.
