Hankai Uemachi Line

The Uemachi Line (阪堺電気軌道上町線, Hankai Denki Kido Uemachi-sen) is a tramway line of the Hankai Tramway.

History
- September 20, 1900 - Osaka Horse Rail Co. (大阪馬車鉄道, Osaka Basha Tetsudo) from Tennoji-nishimon-mae to Higashi-Tengachaya is opened.
- November 29, 1900 - The line is extended from Higashi-Tengachaya to Kamisumiyoshi (Present: Kaminoki).
- December 27, 1902 - The line is extended from Kamisumiyoshi to Shimosumiyoshi (Later: Sumiyoshijinja-mae, Present: Sumiyoshi).
- 1907 - Renamed "Osaka Densha Rail Co." (大阪電車鉄道), then "Naniwa Densha Tram Co." (浪速電車軌道).
- December 24, 1909 - Nankai Railway merges Naniwa Densha Tram, then becomes the Uemachi Line.
- 1911 - Through operation to Osaka Shiden starts.
- January 12, 1912 - Through operation to Osaka Shiden ends.
- July 12, 1913 - The Uemachi Line is extended from Sumiyoshijinja-mae to Sumiyoshi (Present: Sumiyoshikoen).
- December 24, 1921 - The Uemachi Line from Tennoji-nishimon to Tennoji-eki-mae becomes the line of Osaka Shiden.
- June 1, 1944 - Kansai Kyuko Railway and Nankai Railway are united and becomes Kintetsu Corporation.
- June 1, 1947 - Kintetsu devides rails of the former Nankai Lines to Nankai Electric Railway Co., Ltd., and the Uemachi Line becomes one of the lines of the Osaka Tram Line
- December 1, 1980 - The Uemachi Line becomes a tramway line of Hankai Tramway Co., Ltd.

- Trams are operated between Tennoji-eki-mae and Sumiyoshikoen or between Tennoji-eki-mae and Abikomichi on the Hankai Line.
