G 16 ARE A 16 CYLINDER LOCOMOTIVE 1650 HP C-C WHEEL SET 567 MOTOR EMD BIULD FOR ESTRADA DE FERRO VITORIA A MINAS IN 1950'S
In Hong Kong, there are only 4 locomotives imported. The first three locomotives introduced in 1961 (built by GM Australia) and numbered 56-58,and last one (59) introduced in 1966 (built by clyde engineering ). All loco equipped with 16-567C engine and co-co wheel arrangement. Note that the no.59 loco changed to 16-645E engine since by a crash.
In future, these loco are use more than 40 years,will retire in 2010's
