Category:Formatting templates

From TrainSpottingWorld, for Rail fans everywhere
This category contains pages in the template namespace, and is not part of the articles themselves.
It should not be used to categorize articles or pages in other namespaces.

To add a template to this category, add <noinclude>[[Category:Formatting templates|{{PAGENAME}}]]</noinclude> to the end of the template. Make sure that the opening <noinclude> starts on the same line as the last character of the template code.

Formatting templates are used to modify the appearance or position of text or other elements on Wikipedia pages.

Function templates produce units of text or other elements that are otherwise difficult or tedious to render. Some should be substituted, using this syntax: {{subst:template_name|parameter/s}}.

Conversion templates may do a little of both as is discussed in Category talk:Conversion templates.
