Original file (900 × 355 pixels, file size: 100 KB, MIME type: image/jpeg)
The image is a low resolution copy of a promotional poster. It is believed only two copies were ever printed, and as such the image is unrepeatable. It has been uploaded for the sole purpose of illustrating the launch of the product depicted, ie, the Spirit of Progress train service.
The work was produced in 1937 by the artist Percy Trompf (1902-1964) for the Victorian Railways. It is therefore likely that as a commissioned work, copyright for this poster was held by Victorian Railways, not by the artist.
