Assessment Page
The Trains assessment scheme is in place so that editors can see what articles are good and complete, and what articles need more work on them.
The scheme starts from "Stub" class, for articles only a few sentences long, and works up through "Start" and "B". When an article reaches A-Class, it is considered complete, and can only do better by achieving "FA-Class", making it one of trains' best articles.
The assessments are mainly carried out by member's of the workforces, but any user may rate an article, as long as it is within the guidlines (below).
The only level that cannot be gained through a ranking by a user is FA- or FL- class, which must be nominated. A panel of assessors will then give their comments, and a final assessment.
The assessments are by no means the law. They can easily be changed by any user. For the guidlines, please see below.
So, how do you rate an article? Well...

A-Class article. Articles in this grading level are generally complete in scope and breadth and are generally easy to read and verify. | The reader will gain a general understanding of the article's topic, but there may be some parts that could be expanded or further defined in the article text. | Articles at this level shouldn't take much more work to reach featured status; they are generally complete and well-referenced and all images are appropriately licensed for inclusion in the article.
