London King's Cross is a mainline railway station located in the London Borough of Camden. It is the southern terminus on the East Coast mainline, connecting London to Edinburgh.
The station
History
London King's Cross station was opened in 1852. The roof of the station is thought to be modelled on the riding school of the Czars of Moscow

- National Express east coast services to Peterborough, Doncaster, Leeds, York, Darlington, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee, Aberdeen, Inverness via the East Coast Main Line.
- First capital connect (Great northern route) services to Cambridge and King's Lynn, local services to North London, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Peterborough and Cambridgeshire.
- Hull Trains services to Hull via the East Coast Main Line.
Tube interchange
King's Cross St Pancras is the tube station for this mainline station. It is in Travelcard Zone 1. It is currently undergoing major refurbishment, including the building of 2 new ticket halls, in line with the Kings Cross area redevelopment as an international gateway due to the new Eurostar terminus at St Pancras station.

Trivia
- It is rumoured that Queen Boudicaa is buried under platform 8.
- The station is used as a set for the Harry Potter series films The bridge featured in the films can be found halfway down platforms 1 - 5. Platform 9 and 3/4 is filmed on platform 3. The entrance to platform 9 and 3/4 for the film is between platforms 4 and 5. The filmmakers did this due to the lack of a platform between tracks 9 and 10.
- There is a trolley stuck into the wall between platforms 9 and 10 with a sign marked platform 9 and 3/4.
