The Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Class 5 is a class of 2-4-2T steam locomotive.

1008 preserved in the National Railway Museum.

The first of the class, 1008 is preserved as a static exhibit in the National Railway Museum. It was also the first locomotive to be built at the then new Horwich Works.
